About the department

The Department of Accounting and Financial Management was established right from the inception of the Faculty of Commerce and The M.S. University of Baroda i.e. from the year 1949. Name of the Department was changed from Department of Accounting to Department of Accounting and Financial Management in March 1990. The Department looks after teaching and promotion of various subjects covered under the discipline of Accounting and Financial Management at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level.

The Department is engaged into imparting education at both undergraduate and post graduate level. At undergraduate level, the Department offers specialization in the Area of (a) Accounting and Auditing and (b) Finance & Investment Management.

Department holds Seminars and Talks on contemporary topics.

Department has formed Accounting & Finance Students Association (AFSA) at U.G. level as well as at P.G. level whereby to make students aware about various practical and contemporary aspects in the fields of Accounting and Financial Management. Various cultural events are also organized by AFSA. It organizes Debates, Elocutions, Seminars, Industrial visits, Government offices visits and Stock Exchange visits.
